1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your character's favourite colour, or what the relationship with their mother was like, their lap dancer name, whatever.
2. I respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know your character better.
3. You update your characters IJ with the answers to the questions, and comment to this post with a link to your answers.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else's character, or even players, in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions about either themselves or their characters.
1) What role in the theatre has Nell enjoyed most? Why? Nell’s favourite role was his first role, given to him by his father when he was still alive. He had one line and then he was murdered. It was Macbeth and not a terribly good production but it’s his favourite because his father trusted him to be able to perform it.
2) Nell seems to be regularly gifted things by certain clients. What is his favourite favour and who gave it to him, when? Nell’s favourite favour is something he doesn’t actually own but something of which he is immensely proud. A painting, commissioned by the French ambassador which he had Nell sit for, although you wouldn’t be able to tell it was him as it is a nude portrait painted from behind. It hangs in one of the upper rooms in the embassy and Nell likes to visit it when he’s there.
3) If Nell hadn't become an actor and a prostitute, what sort of profession would he have chosen for himself? If he had the money, would he have got himself an education? If he had money Nell probably wouldn’t bother with an education. He doesn’t mind not being able to read and write, or didn’t at least. He’d be quite happy to spend his time as a gentleman of leisure. If he had picked his own profession then he would probably have still chosen something like owning his own tavern.
4) Nell has a sister somewhere. Has there ever been a time during his life with Harry in which he has seriously considered running away and attempting to find her? Yes. The first night after Harry explained what he meant by working for him and then showed him. Nell lay awake in the bed wondering if he could get away now and how much money he had. He eventually reasoned he wouldn’t have the money to get half-way to her and would have to resort to what Harry was offering him anyway. He also could not bear to leave his father’s theatre.
5) As Léon Belmont's lover/prostitute, does Nell think he has any power or sway over the man at all, or does he attempt to stay out of Léon's work? Nell attempts to stay away from Léon’s work as much as he can. It’s not that he doesn’t think he’d have the power to sway Léon but that the more he knows the closer to becoming a traitor he is. Spying id bad enough, and Nell doesn’t want to think of Léon as the sort of man capable of sending another to his death.
